Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device so it can work correctly and remember your choices. We also use similar technologies: browser local storage, the storage used by our installable web app (a service worker), and third-party measurement tags (pixels). In this Policy we refer to all of them together as "cookies."

Cookies can be first-party (set by Fixeep) or third-party (set by a provider we use, such as Google or Meta). They can be session cookies that expire when you close your browser, or persistent cookies that remain for a set period. The Client can post a job without creating an account, so the Platform relies mainly on your own device's storage rather than on tracking cookies.

We group the technologies we use into the categories below. Two of them (analytics and marketing) load only after you consent; by default they are disabled until you make a choice.

• Strictly necessary: required for the Platform to work: keeping a Professional signed in after they enter their one-time email code, security, and remembering your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off through the banner.
• Functional: remember your language (English/Spanish) and your navigation preferences so they aren't lost on reload. Your posting draft is kept in your browser's local storage on your own device.
• Analytics (consent required): Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, to measure how the site is used so we can improve it. This is a separate category. You can accept it without accepting marketing.
• Marketing / advertising (consent required): the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, to measure our advertising campaigns and reach people who may be interested in Fixeep. This is a separate category. You can decline it even if you accept analytics.

The list below describes the main cookies and storage the Platform relies on. Exact names, durations and behavior of third-party providers may change; the categories above always apply.

Strictly necessary

• fixeep_rt: first-party. Keeps a Professional signed in (secure refresh-token session). Expires after 7 days; it is httpOnly, so it cannot be read by scripts.
• fx_consent: first-party. Remembers your cookie choice (analytics and marketing, separately) so we don't ask again. Lasts about 1 year.
• The Professional's access token is held in memory only (not stored in a cookie) and is cleared when you close the tab.

Functional

• NEXT_LOCALE: first-party. Remembers your chosen language (English/Spanish). Lasts about 1 year.
• Local storage & web-app (PWA) data: first-party, on your device. Stores your posting draft and app data so the Platform loads faster and can send web push notifications if you allow them. Kept until you clear it or uninstall the app.

Analytics (consent required)

• _ga, _ga_*, _gid: third-party (Google). Set by Google Analytics 4 / Tag Manager to measure site usage. They are set only after you consent to analytics; typical lifespans range from 24 hours (_gid) up to 2 years (_ga).

Marketing / advertising (consent required)

• _fbp: third-party (Meta). Set by the Meta Pixel to measure advertising. It is set only after you consent to marketing; it typically lasts about 3 months.

Analytics and marketing cookies start off disabled and are requested separately. When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you "Accept all", "Reject all", or open "Preferences" to choose each category on its own. Declining is as easy as accepting.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer, which reopens the banner. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings and uninstall the web app whenever you want. Note that, without the strictly necessary technologies, some features (such as staying signed in) may stop working.

Some analytics and marketing cookies may involve targeted advertising or the sharing of personal data with third parties. Depending on where you live (for example Virginia or Florida), you may have the right to opt out of targeted advertising and the "sale" or sharing of your personal data. Setting your cookie preferences to reject marketing, or using your browser's opt-out signal, is one way to exercise this. We may update this Cookie Policy as our technologies or the law change. Material changes will be reflected by the version and date shown above.
